Windows 10: Trying to reset windows on an HP Envy laptop.

Hi,I have an older HP Envy laptop that I got from my mother in law. I am trying to reconfigure it so that my son can use it at home for school. First, we had a problem with not knowing the password. I used the troubleshooter and attempted a complete wipe and reinstallation of windows deleting all personal files and information. However the reinstallation was corrupted and left me with an error message stating: "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. HP Envy Laptop Battery not charging after Windows 10 installation

Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I suggest you to un-install and re-install battery drivers from Device manager and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Device Manager.
• Expand Batteries and right click on Batteries ACPI and click on Un-install.
• Restart the computer and check.

If the issue persist, I suggest you to visit HP Envy website and check whether HP has released any firmware updates for Windows 10. If so, please go ahead and install them and check with the issue.

Some tips:

• 
  When trying to scan from a computer, what is displayed on the printer?
  

• 
  Try making a copy of something from the printer itself. If that doesn't work, then the problem is with the printer itself. Contact HP Support for that. However, if it works, then it is a software issue.
  

• 
  Does the support guide for your printer have any instructions on resetting the printer, such as unplugging it?
