  1. Trying to revive a possibly dead hard drive

Hi everyone. I had a Seagate external HDD attached to my server for a couple of years and it recently stopped being recognised by the server. Plugging it into my windows machine doesn't make it show up in drive manager or explorer, though the disks still spin up when connected. Is there any way to recover and format this drive, or is it done for?

  2. Revive a dead CPU?

Is it possible to revive a dead CPU?

There are no broken/bent pins. Physically it looks 100% but the motherboard's vrm cooked and sparked.

Placing the old cpu into the new board it doesn't boot. Powers on but I can't even get into the bios.

  3. replace dead hard drive for laptop

Here is the situation My wife has a Toshiba laptop that crashed, the hard drive is done. I have done everything that I have been able to looking at tutorials etc to revive it, its dead jim. I even tried to wipe the hard drive and it would have none of it. My Toshiba laptop runs, but the case is just falling apart, the moniter keeps trying to fall backwards, its funny and sad all at once. Now I have talked with a few folks and the consensus is I can take my hard drive and put it into her laptop as long as I have the drivers for my laptop. I have gone online and found a list of drivers on the Toshiba website but I am lost as to what to get. Once I get whatever drivers I will need can I download them onto a disc? Thanks for your help sorry for the newbee questions but I am at a loss. Thanks again.
