Windows 10: Trying to Run an Old Game in Extended Desktop on External Monitor and It Fails to Run While...

I am running an old game from Matrix Games War in the Pacific on a Lenovo i9 running Windows 11 24H2with a GEFORCE 4060 and an external monitor. It will run fine if the desktop is not extended, but duplicated or if I put the game window on the laptop screen with the desktop extended. However, if I move the window to the external monitor with the desktop extended, then the game becomes completely non-responsive clicking any where on the window contents produces no response until I move the window back to the laptop monitor where it will once again run as normal. I have tried using all av

External monitors extending issue.

I am trying to connect 6 external monitors to my laptop running on windows 10. I am using DVI-D dual-link to HDMI cable to connect the monitors to the HDMI splitter and HDMI to HDMI cable to connect the splitter to the laptop. There
is just one problem when I am extending the screens, the external monitors seem to duplicate themselves rather than extend. So instead of 1 to 7 for all monitors combined, all my laptop only detects 1 and 2. 1 being my laptop and 2 being all the other external
6 monitors. That means that all the external monitors showing me the same thing as in they duplicate and not extend. Any suggestion on it can be fixed so all the external monitors become the extension of my main laptop and do not duplicate?

I would suggest you to refer the below link and check the compatibility of the game with Windows 10.

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.

        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.

I run extended desktop, but switch that monitor to another PC and...

the extended desktop running app is dead to me, I cant retrieve it, it is set to show on the extended desktop. How can I move it back to the non extended desktop??? I was hoping to be able to right click the icon on taskbar and say move right. So close it and open it, it will continue to be pegged to the extended desktop, and I can not see it.

Right now, I have to find the remote, and flip the HDMI source of the display back to the other PC, then drag it back over.

I just did reboot, and it remembers which monitor the app was running on. With the input selection on the monitor set to a different input. Maybe if extended monitor is unplugged, it will jump back over?
How about if extended monitor is turned off?
