  1. Trying to run HP Display Assistant using Windows 10


    I recently purchased an HP Elite Display E202 and connected it to my HP Slimline Desktop PC 270-p024. The OS is Windows 10. I connected the monitor to the computer using the HDMI cable and a USB cable. The monitor seems to work fine except that the HP Display Assistant software that came with the monitor does not work. When I run it I get this error message: "DDC/CI Communication - HP Display Assistant was unable to establish communications with your display. Use the HP cables that came with the monitor. Update the Graphic Card drivers from the manufacturer's website."


    I have used the correct cables and ensured that the connections were tight. I have updated to the latest version of Windows 10. I checked and have the latest Intel HD Graphics 630 driver dated 2/19/20.


    In the process of doing these updates I discovered that the E202 monitor was apparently only supported through Windows 7. Since it seems to display all my regular applications including Office 365 properly, I assume that this means that only the HP Display Assistant software needs to be updated.


    Is there a patch for HP Display Assistant so that it works with Windows 10? If not, is there a workaround or another program that will allow me to use the two USB ports on the monitor?

    I suggest you to perform the below troubleshooting steps and check if it helps.

    I suggest you to connect the display screen and try to update the driver.

    Update the Display Adapter driver.

    I suggest you to update the Display Adapter driver.

    Steps to install the drivers for the Display Adapter.

    • Press Windows + R keys from the keyboard to open
      Run
      command.
    • In Run window type devmgmt.msc.
    • Then in device manager, right click on Display Adapter.
    • Try to update the drivers from the option stating automatically update the drivers.
    • If it works fine otherwise try to search for the drivers with the help of model number of your computer from the Manufacturer’s website.
    If you don't find the drivers for Windows 10 in the manufacturer website, you can revert your display driver back to an older version instead of the one installed with windows 10.


    • Right click on the Start Button.

    • Select Device Manager.

    • Select Display driver and then then right click on the driver.

    • click the Update Driver... button

    • Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'

    • Select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'

    • Select the Older version of your current driver.

    1. What is the make and model of the computer?

    2. When you say “issues with hp support assistant” what is the exact issue are you referring to?

    3. Are you getting any error code or error message?

    Follow the below methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

    I suggest you to try running the Power Troubleshooter to check if it helps to resolve the issue.

    Run the Power troubleshooter on the system.

    Refer these steps:

    • Press Windows key + X, select Control panel.
    • Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
    • Click on troubleshooting and click on the view all option on the left panel
    • Run the Power troubleshooter
