Windows 10: Trying to set Wordpad default to single space

Hi! I'd like to change Wordpad's default to single space, so that I won't have to go into Line Spacing to change this on every document.

how do you get wordpad on windows 10 to single space. also is there a special way you can bring wordpad back to default. I messed wordpad up trying to get it to single space.

Create an empty document called document.rtf with all the settings that you want to use such as line spacing of 1.0 and then save it.

Change the Start Menu shortcut for WordPad so that it always opens with this default file.

To do this add this new file to the end of the WordPad target location so that it always starts with your preferred file that contains the settings you want.

The start menu shortcut for Wordpad is found by right clicking it in the Start Menu selecting More and then Open File Location:




Right-click the Wordpad shortcut to access its properties and then add the file location to the end of the Target as shown below changing xxxxx to your username.
