Windows 10: Trying to setup folders and I turned everything into my D: drive

Have just installed Windows 10 and I was trying to move the shortcuts or whatever they are Pictures, Videos, Music, Favourites etc to my D drive instead of C drive but I've messed up along the way. How can I fix this? Thank you!

Hi Mohammed,

Creating a shortcut on your desktop that will point to a folder in your D drive is possible. Here's how to do it:

• Open your D drive.
  
• Right-click the folder that you want to create a shortcut for.
  
• Select Send to, then Desktop.

Turned Hard Drive into Music folder

• Create a folder on the D drive and name it 'Music'
• Move all the files and folders that should be in the Music folder into this new folder
• Then in Quick Access, right click the Windows Music Library, select Properties
• Then on the location Tab, set its location to the new 'Music' folder
• When asked if you want to merge contents - Select 'No'
• Click 'Apply' and 'OK'

If you want you can leave the music folder on the D Drive, or you can then click 'Restore Default' to move it back onto the C Drive

If needs be for the Documents folder, you can perform the same operation by creating a new Documents folder on the D Drive

NOTE: the important step is (5) do not merge the contents . . .

• Click on the File Explorer.
• Select This PC.
• Right-click on your D drive, then click on Format.
• Follow the on-screen process to finish formatting the partition.
