Windows 10: Trying to solve lock screen problems has confused me completely

Microsoft downloading a new lock screen photo daily has suddenly stopped. I have tried several "solutions" on the net to include regedits. One of these solutions suggests going to web/screen and deleting img105 (this is the beginning of their solution).


When I go to Advanced Security Settings for img105, only the TrustedInstaller has the authorization to delete the file. First, I don't know how to change myself into TrustedInstaller and, if I did know how to assume control, I wouldn't know how do describe myself to the computer.


I am the only one that uses this computer. Once in awhile I have to change into administrator which I do, and then exit out as administrator. Other than that, I don't have cause to mess with identities. I am a user named Fred. I guess what I'm saying is when I sign into the computer using my password, I have no idea what identity the computer is recognizing.


I messed around on the Advanced Settings page and "Fred (Marilyn-PC\Fred)" is now designated as owner. No doubt the ownership shouldn't be written that way. (My computer name is "Marilyn-PC")


The articles on the net throw around the idea of me "assuming ownership" re TrustedInstaller as if I should know how to do that.


And when some kind soul answers this missive with instructions re assuming control, I still am left with the problem that my daily Lock Screen from MS is fouled up.

I would suggest you to follow the below steps to try resolving the issue.

Setting the timeout for Lock Screen

• Press Windows + I and select personalization.
  
• Select Lock screen.
  
  
• Select the Screen Timeout setting.
  
• Select the time of timeout you need and check.

Thanks for the quick reply. While your suggestion does change the sign in process, it doesn't address the differing screenshot question. Following the steps doesn't make the login screenshot the same as the Lock screenshot. As I mentioned, I can't even find the screenshots being used for both screens.

Still looking a solution to this. Open to any other suggestions you might have to the problem. Thanks!

Saturday there was a major upgrade installed on the computer in windows 10.

• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to this concern?

The problem started after the upgrade.

• What exactly happens when you're trying to access your computer from your lock screen?

Previously I was able to click on my mouse and I was able to immediately access the windows that I had open.

• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

I tried to reset the lock screen settings but I have not been able to solve this issue. I checked as many different options as I could but found no answers. The only way to access the screen is to use control
alt delete which then opens up the windows
