  1. trying to switch out of s mode and it tells me I need to check with IT or system admin.

I just recently bought a new laptop to replace an old one that was running slow. This one is a Lenovo 130-15AST 15.6". It came with Windows 10 and every time I try to download Google Chrome or try to use the Telehealth website it tells me my laptop is in S mode. When I go and click all the things Microsoft has told me to do. I get to the "Get" button but it is grey and it has a message that says "Check with your IT or system administrator". I am the admin of this computer as I am the only one that uses it. I really need to be able to use Google Chrome for school and other things. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated. I have attached a screen snip of the message below.

Error: Check with your IT or System administrator when trying to switch out of S mode

    Hi,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

I understand that you are getting an error, ‘Check with your IT or system administrator’ when trying to switch out of S mode. I’ll certainly help you with this issue.

    However, please let us know:

    • How are you trying to switch out of S mode?
    • Are you using a University/School account to login to the computer?
    • Where do you see the error "Check with your IT or system administrator."?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type:
winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit
      Enter.

I suggest you to refer the article on
Switching out of S mode in Windows 10
    and see if that helps.

If you are using a University/School account to login to the computer, I would suggest you to create a new user account, login to Store using your personal Microsoft account and try switching out of S mode. Refer the article

Create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10
    .

If you face any issues, I suggest you to refer the steps mentioned below:

    Reset Windows Store Cache:

Try resetting the Store and see if that helps.

    1. Press Windows key + R. This will open
Run. Alternatively, you can go to Start and search for ‘Run’.
    2. In Run dialog box, type ‘wsreset.exe’ and hit
      Enter.

Note: A blank Command Prompt window will open, and after about ten seconds, the window will close and Microsoft Store will open automatically.

    Re-register Store:

Run the PowerShell command to re-register store.

    1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on
      Windows PowerShell (Admin).
    2. Now type in the command and hit Enter:
      Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\\AppXManifest.xml”}
    3. Restart the PC.

    Let us know the results.
