Windows 10: Trying to update - error code 0xc1900204

Hi,I am trying to update my computer as it says my version of Windows has reached the end of service.It's trying to do a feature update to windows 10, version 20H2 and the error code is 0xc1900204.I have tried restarting, using the windows trouble-shooter, even the "Get Help" button, where the method provided didn't work and also didn't explain what to do if I had errors during the process.I am concerned about the security of my computer whilst I am using this older version of Windows 10. Please let me know how I can fix this error code.

I've used the link you've given and I still get the error code 0xc1900204. I'm on Windows 8.1. I've been told to remove mcafee to do the upgrade and then try again. I've tried 3 times and get this error code everytime.

It's pretty frustrating. Please help!

Error 0xc1900204 while updating to 1903

I am trying to update to Windows 10, v. 1903. The system stops loading at about 40%. with error code 0xc1900204. Any help is highly appreciated

Hello All,

I'm having problems with Windows Update version 1909, I am getting error code 0xc1900204.

I have performed all the steps as outlined in windows 10 anniversay update Error 0xc1900204 but have had no success.

My current setup:

SSD - Bootdrive (C Drive)

HD - All other files (A Drive)

All content is saved to the A Drive: New Apps, New Documents, Music, Photos, etc.

I am thinking I my not have edited the registry editor option correctly. Per troubleshooting with the registry editor, I changed "ProgramFilesDir" values to C and it still didn't work. Below is a list of over values in the folder, should I redirect all
to C?
