Windows 10: Trying to upgrade Win Vista to Win 10 but having issues

Hi All,

I have Windows Vista home premium, 4 GB RAM, Intel Core 2 Duo T6400 2.00GHz processor.

Bought Win 10 Pro Download version online. Dowloaded 32 bit iso.

Extracted and trying to run setup but getting error -


"windows installation cannot be started from the current operating system. to install windows, boot from the installation media, or upgrade from a supported operating system and restart the installation."



Please help. I need to upgrade this version to be able to do my work on Win 10.

Clayton, yes you can use your own files, as well realize the files from the tutorial attachments are the exact same thing already coming from Windows Vista - it's all the same.

Please for your own sake, just be sure you understand the limitations of using the old Vista WinMail client out of it's native environment inside of Windows7/8/10 by reading through the disclaimer, and the Bug List that's linked on the page there, and then decide if you want to do it and if it's right for you.

Win 10 1511 10586

Been on Win 10 for about 6 weeks upgraded from Win 7. Win Update listed Above update avail. Loaded it but it failed at restart. Could not then restart PC. Used repair disk to boot and system restore back to orig Win 10 ver. Got error 0x80000fff problem
during restore which appears to be a vista / win 7 restore issue. Fix will not run on Win 10. Any suggestions

 

Win Vista to Win 10

Can someone throw some light on this question.

I'm in the process of upgrading an old Toshiba A 200 laptop from Win Vista to Win 10 ( home ) edition,

however I am unable to format or erase my hard drive to enable this upgrade.

Error response: Unable to erase the hard drive as it contains the current operating system.

I have done this once before on the same laptop then from Win XP to Vista without any issues.

I have a Win 10 Usb ISO which I purchased for this upgrade.

(I have a backup copy of my hard drive on an external HD).

I'm not pc guru obviously so I would appreciate any assistance I can get,
