Windows 10: Trying to verify microsoft account, while not being able to use new laptop to open said...

So, now when you buy a new laptop with windows, you get prompted forced to enter your microsoft account info, and if you dont have one well too bad you can just make a new one. Problem is, to continue on you have to first "enter the verification code". Now please riddle me this: how do you access your newly made gmail, from your newly bought PC, when you literally cant use said PC until you get that code.There is some serious 1st-world thinking going on here i.e. apple power cord because "surely you have a whole lot of computers able to access the internet other than the one you want to us

Unable to verify account on new laptop

A neighbour has lent me her brand new laptop because she wasn't able to log in. For some reason she didn't get the login info.

I have formatted the machine (this had two advantages: 1. Sure way to get rid of any OEM junk, 2. could set up the account how we wanted).

Unfortunately I am unable to verify the account because its keeps wanting to use a secondary email address thats not listed on the MS account page (she no longer has access to it).

How can I verify the account?

Trying to switch to Microsoft account from local, unable to...

I tried that, more than once. I go thru the complete procedure of getting a new Microsoft account password, then when I reach the final step to key in the Windows password, I try my NEW Microsoft account password, and I get the same message-invalid password. No luck.

Any other suggestions.
