Windows 10: TurboTax 2020 failing with Microsoft Installer error 1603

I'm getting this message when launching TurboTax 2020: "2020 TurboTax updater fails with Microsoft Installer error 1603". After HOURS of research, I'm getting nowhere and Intuit's TurboTax support site is useless. Can anyone help with this? Thank you.

itunes failed installation error code 1603

I got a new laptop and i was installing the various important apps and when i tried to install itunes it failed and I received the following error message

I looked in Event Viewer and i found this message during the time when i tried to install the latest itunes version (12.7.2.58)

So I tried to install an earlier version (12.6.0.95) and it did actually install. However, I received the following errors as i tried to load itunes

I'm not exactly sure where to go from here and would appreciate any advice. Thanks!
My issue is nearly identical to this post (iTunes Installation Error - error status 1603 Solved - Page 2 - Windows 10 Forums) but it's a bit old and I wanted to see if anyone has new ideas on how to fix it and why it happened in the first place. I did buy the computer off craigslist but it has worked great and I haven't encountered any other issues.

 

Error 1603

Error 1603 generally occurs due to installation errors or corruption of the setup during installation or uninstallation (in most of the cases) although there are many other reasons too. And for this reasons only there is the popping of the "ERROR 1603" dialogue
box. Here are some of the ways to fix the problem :-

1. Close Background Software
2. Check the Software Is not Already Installed
3. Check That There’s Enough Hard Drive Space for the Program
4. Open the Program Install and Uninstall Troubleshooter
5. Erase Temporary Files From the Windows Temp Folder
6. Restart the Windows Installer Service
7. Edit the NtfsDisable8dot3NameCreation Registry Value
8. Grant Full Control Permission to Installation Drive

Microsoft Office 2016 fails to install with errors 1603, FC73469E

I am attempting to install Microsoft Office 2016 Pro Plus (classic, not click-to-run)

The installation fails, here is an excerpt from Windows Event Viewer:

Looking through the event log, I found this line:

Following it, there are many variations of this error with a bunch of DLLs:

Error 80070005 appears to be a permissions related issue. I have verified that SYSTEM has full control of C:\Program Files(x86)\Microsoft Office (though not the parent folder) and C:\WINDOWS\assembly.

• I am running as administrator
  
• I have tried this with a "clean boot" so hopefully there's no antivirus blocking anything
  
• I am installing Microsoft Office 2016 Pro Plus 32-bit
  
• I am running Windows 10 Enterprise 64-bit
  

Can anyone help with this error? I can post the full installation log upon request.
