Windows 10: Turbotax 2022 install - Visual C++ 2015 redistributable package x86 issue

Installing TurboTax 2022 on an older 2012 x86 machine updated to Window 10 3 or more years ago -- been using this product for a long time -- with versions 2018 -2021 on this machine running wellThe package claims Visual C++ 2015 redistributable not there -- although it is -- repaired -- deleted - allow package to install it - run in admin mode - tried all the obvious There is 85 G left on hard drive -- with no reported errorsPerson checked that system met requirements -- 2 G RAM -- I have 4GWorked with a knowledgeable person at Turbo tax -- suggested that .Net 4.8 was needed -- Ca,t find

Cannot install Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022

I was able to fix this in quite a few computers by doing the following:

1. First make sure all VC++ redistributable packages from 2015 onwards were uninstalled.
   
2. Open "regedit" and navigate to "Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Installer\Products"
   
   1. Search within all the child keys that have a product name of "Microsoft Visual C++ 2015...", "Microsoft Visual C++ 2019...", "Microsoft Visual C++ 2022...", etc.
      
   2. If you are having trouble with just the x64 version then you don't need to uninstall the x86 and its registry keys.
      
3. Try to install it again, it should work.

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

See if any other version of Visual C ++2015 Redistributable Package (x86) is already installed - if it is - uninstall it

NOTE: do not remove versions with other years like 2015, 2010 , , ,etc. they are required by other software on your system

Then download this version of that redistributable

Restart your PC and then install this version

Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) not installing

This error may occur when the Microsoft Visual C++ is not compatible with 10.

I suggest you to uninstall any existing Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable Package and install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package to check if it helps.

Follow the below steps:

Step 1: Uninstall the exiting Microsoft Visual C++.

a) Press Windows key + x key and select Programs and Features.

b) Right click on the Microsoft Visual C++ and uninstall it.

Step 2: Download the latest Microsoft Visual C++ and install it.
