Windows 10: turn off audio sleep mode

Hello. I've recently upgraded to win11 and seem to have found an issue where my audio is in a sort of sleep mode for a second or so before continuing like i had just played the sound. this can cut off notifications or the beginning of some sound files and its getting quite annoying. The only fix I've seen is to install a third party program but id like to not install and run a program 24/7 on my pc. Are there any settings to turn this off or do i have to install and run the program? Thank you.

PC turns on straight away after sleep mode is on

I see that you system is still on even if the sleep mode option is turned on. This might be due to the change in the power plan settings.

Please follow the below methods and check if it works,

Method 1: I suggest you to run in-built Power troubleshooter and check. Follow the steps:

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting on the left pane, click on
  View All.
• Click on Power to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: If the above method doesn’t help, I would suggest you to reset and restore all of the default Power Plans back with their default settings. Follow the steps.

• Press Windows Key + X.
• Type Power Options and then Enter.
• In the left pane Select Change when the computer sleeps.
• Select Restore default settings on this plan.
• Restart the computer and check with the issue.

Audio driver preventing sleep mode/audio playing while in sleep mode windows 10

Hi David,

Sleep mode uses very little power and once you wake up your computer, you're instantly back to where you left off. To turn off audio playing while on sleep mode, you can try to turn off audio jack sensing and the mic on the Realtek audio manager app.
