Windows 10: Turn off verified by Microsoft Store to download pprograms from the internet

I am prevented from downloading Logos Bible Software though I go into the Microsoft store and cannot find anything there. What settings must I access downloading software on to my new laptop. Wondering if Kindle Reading app for PC-if I am going to have the same problems?
