  3. How to restore "Close warning when close multiple tabs" Microsoft Edge??

    Hi

Unfortunately they did not include an option to disable that "Always close all tabs" setting.

You can disable this setting by using the following tutorial.

See Option Two in the following tutorial.

Turn On or Off Ask to Close All Tabs in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

    Hello @mrgeek, *Smile

I just tested this on my system to see if anything may have changed, and it's still working for me.

Is the AskToCloseAllTabs DWORD showing that it was set to 0 to turn it off?

It's odd that this DWORD is getting deleted on your system. It shouldn't be deleted. It should always be set to either 0 (off) or 1 (on).

If you don't mind, post a screenshot showing this registry key location to see if anything else may stand out as unusual.

"If you don't mind, post a screenshot showing this registry key location to see if anything else may stand out as unusual. "

Still not sticking. Here's reg w/your key added, no problem closing all tabs by clicking 'X' in upper-R corner of Edge, no message.

Now, re-open Edge with several tabs open. Click 'X' and message appears again. Filled in 'Always close ***' and closed Edge. Here's screen before closing, you see dialog box again

Refreshed View of registry and, as you can see, key is now gone again.

Just an annoyance but I know that on every other browser, ticking the box lets me close all by simply clicking 'X' in upper R. Any help or suggestions welcome and Thanks.

I'll try that. I just tested on another system. Set value to '1' to invoke dialogue box. Ticked box to 'Always close all' and reg value re-set to '0'. Registry on other computer has far fewer entries but is not primary browser. I'll post results after testing. Thanks for your time to look.

SUCCESS ! I could not Reset in Apps & features because Edge is not listed. So I used the brute force method. Deleted contents of this folder -

*Arrow Reset Microsoft Edge to Default in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Browsers Email Tutorials

    C:\Users\%username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge_8wekyb3d8bbwe and the ran powershell (admin) command - Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers -Name Microsoft.MicrosoftEdge | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml” -Verbose}

Opened Edge and a few tabs, checked the 'Always close ...' box and check registry and Voila, the entry is there and set to '0'

Turn On or Off Ask to Close All Tabs in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10 [IMG]

and dialog box doesn't open any more in subsequent openings and closings of Edge. Now to reset my faves and settings. *Mad Thanks for your suggestions, Brink. Cheers.

  11. Sorry, but messing around in the Registry is not for everyone and this should not be the only answer. If this is the only answer am thinking about returning to Chrome. So far Edge like Outlook 365 has not proven too friendly. Is there a way to change this without going into the Registry?

Hello dsterting9, and welcome to Ten Forums. *Smile

There's no need for you to mess around in the registry, The downloadable .reg file is 100% safe, and will do it for you.
