When you have the Game bar turned on, you can select to show tips when you start a game to learn more about using Game bar each time you open a game or app set to be remembered as a game.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off showing Game bar tips for your account in Windows 10.


CONTENTS:

• Option One: To Turn On or Off Game Bar Tips in Game Bar Settings

EXAMPLE: Game bar tip "Press Win+G to broadcast your game"








OPTION ONE [/i] To Turn On or Off Game Bar Tips in Game Bar Settings
1. Press the Win+G keys to open the Game bar.

2. Click/tap on the Settings (gear) button on the Game bar. (see screenshot below)

3. In the General tab on the left, check (on - default) or uncheck (off) Show tips when I start a game for what you want, and close Game bar settings. (see screenshot below)









OPTION TWO [/i] To Turn On or Off Game Bar Tips using a REG file
*note The downloadable .reg files below will modify the DWORDs in the registry keys below.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\GameBar

ShowStartupPanel DWORD

0 = Off
1 = On


1. Do step 2 (on) or step 3 (off) below for what you would like to do.


2. To Turn On Game Bar Tips
*note This is the default setting.
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

3. To Turn Off Game Bar Tips
A) Click/tap on the Download button below to download the file below, and go to step 4 below.

4. Save the .reg file to your desktop.

5. Double click/tap on the downloaded .reg file to merge it.

6. When prompted, click/tap on Run, Yes (UAC), Yes, and OK to approve the merge.

7. You can now delete the downloaded .reg file if you like.

Turning off the Game Bar will stop this for you.

If you like, you could go a step further, and completely disable the Game DVR and Game Bar.
