Hi ALL,


I am looking to turn on VTx Windows 10 Pro, 64 bit.
Hyper V is off in "Windows features". Virtualisation on in BIOS. Acceleration greyed out in VirtualBox.


I'm not sure if the latest update has affected this option or something else is conflicting or not.


I can NOT get to UEFI setting from the "ADVANCED" option in the STARTUP menus either. :-(



Please help.

Is there a registry setting I can tweak at all or anything else that I can try please?

Computer is a HP ProBook 4530s with a 1TB SSD, 8GB of RAM.
Intel i7-2670QM processor, ( 4 cores, 8 threads ).

Hyper-V cannot be installed. Virtualisation support is disabled in the Firmware

I have Window 10 and a 64 bit i7 machine.

I have enabled Virtualisation in the BIOS but when I go into turn Windows features on and try and enable it, the option is greyed out with the tooltip:

Hyper-V cannot be installed. Virtualisation support is disabled in the Firmware.

Any ideas?

Couldnt virtualise on Windows 10

Do you have the Home edition of Windows 10? Hyper-V is only available in Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise and Education editions.

That's the problem that I cannot find Hyper-V in Windows Features list, hence I am not able to turn it on or off.

If you have Windows 10 Pro and a 64-bit processor, check the other requirements I linked to in my previous post.
