  1. Turned off Filter Keys, and Sticky Keys in Settings, but it keeps beeping when I hit shift...

I already Turned off Filter Keys, and Sticky Keys in Settings, but it keeps beeping when I hit shift a few times in game.I already restarted my PC since the Changes in Settings, none of this fixes the Beep issues.I am using a laptop, and am on win 10.The Random beeping happens If I hit shift 5 to 6 times in a row, it can be replicated even when there is no game, and I am on my desktop. As such, It clearly is an OS issue.

    :)

Cannot keep Filter Keys turned off in settings using accessibility version of windows 10

    Hello Jerry,

Thank you for getting back to us with the results.

We apologize for the delay as we are checking in your case thoroughly.

Since the above methods did not change anything, kindly follow the steps below on we can turn off filter keys in Windows 10:

    • Open the Control Panel and change the view to Large icons, and then click Ease of Access Center.
    • Scroll down to the Explore all settings section, then click Make the keyboard easier to use.
    • In the window that shows up, uncheck the boxes for “Turn on Sticky Keys” and “Turn on Filter Keys” to turn off the Sticky / Filter Keys features.

    • To prevent Windows from popping up the Sticky / Filter Keys popup dialog, you also need to disable the corresponding keyboard shortcuts.
      • Disable Sticky Keys Keyboard Shortcut
Click the Set up Sticky Keys link. In the Sticky Keys setup screen, uncheck the box for “Turn on Sticky Keys when SHIFT is pressed five times“.
      • Disable Filter Keys Keyboard Shortcut
Click the Set up Filter Keys link. In the Filter Keys setup screen, uncheck the option for “Turn on Filter Keys when right SHIFT is pressed for 8 seconds“.
    • Click OK to save your changes. Now you’ve successfully turned off both Sticky Keys and Filter Keys permanently in Windows 10.

Update us with the result so we can further assist you.

  3. Keyboard only beeps and doesn't type. NOT sticky keys or filter keys!

Windows 10 acer aspire cloud book. I started my cloud book up today and the keyboard buttons just beep (all except Ins, del, shift, windows). No letters are typed. Sticky keys and filter keys are off. I've tried rebooting and booting in safe mode and
neither works. (Keyboard actually does nothing in safe mode). Ideas?

Turned off Filter Keys, and Sticky Keys in Settings, but it keeps beeping when I hit shift...

    Sticky Keys

If you push the shift key 5 times a prompt comes up asking if want Sticky Keys or not.
If you select yes then the next time you hit the Shift, Control, Alt or Window key, a beep sounds and the next key you hit will be effected by the Sticky Key.

This very handy if you can only type with one hand.

For example if you hit the shift key, hear the beep, and the next key you hit is p it will come out P. if you hit p again without hitting the shift key again it will come out p. Supposedly.

After series of uses my Sticky Keys sticks (won't shut off).
To shut it off I hit the shift key 5 times or until I hear a funny beep.

Is there an easier way to shut it off? Preferably from the key board?
