Windows 10: Turned on my laptop windows ideapad 3 and the trackpad wasn't working. How do I fix this?

For context I use an IdeaPad 3 and when I turned on my laptop it wasn't responding. I tried using the trackpad hotkey ie F6 and tried some solutions I found on the internet, but it still doesn't work. I also went to the mouse settings in Hardware and Sound but it still didn't work. How do I fix it?

the Toshiba website has no windows 10 listing of drivers for my model p50w-b00f (yet).

The trackpad on/off button does nothing.

note: the trackpad does work while booting. the little circle on black screen.

 

Lenovo S740 - Trackpad not working

Hi I'm in urgent need of my trackpad working because tomorrow is the day of a college exam which requires me to bring my laptop without a mouse.

I've just (3 hours ago) installed a fresh copy of Windows 10 1709 .

I've since used Windows Update to update to Windows 10 1909.

I thought Windows Update would provide the trackpad drivers but it didn't.

I've tried to download and install the provided trackpad drivers off the lenovo website but it didn't work. Here's the link to the download page for the drivers laptops and netbooks :: yoga series :: yoga s740 14iil - SG. But it didn't work also.

Things I've also tried:
"Scan for hardware changes" in device manager.
"Show hidden devices" in device manager.

Many online forum posts suggested to change a setting in my BIOS, but I couldn't find it.

Trackpad stops working 5 minutes after starting up computer (Windows 10)

I have the same issue on a Toshiba Satellite S55t-B5152 laptop. The touchpad worked in Windows 8.1. After the upgrade to Windows 10, the trackpad functions at the login screen and for the first minute or so after logging into Windows. After that, nothing.

The touchscreen works, as will a USB mouse, but I much prefer the trackpad. I tried the suggestions listed by the Microsoft engineer in the other reply, but they did not work.

Any other suggestions?
