Windows 10: Turning off grouping in Downloads folder

Hi all, Here's my situation. I can't remember whether I heard about Let's View in this community or somewhere else on the internet, but I know the author of that program lurks here. My custom Let's View settings were wiped out in a recent update, and I haven't restored them because they changed more than I wanted changed about my views in Windows Explorer. Since that update, I've checked the group by none checkbox when opening the Downloads folder from Windows Explorer, and returned the sort order to name. Now the problem is two-fold: 1. Each folder under Downloads is grouped in the same way a

I suggest you to Restore to Default the folders and document settings and see if it helps.

Step 1:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Download folder.
• Right click on the Download Folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

Step 2:

Please follow below steps and check if it helps.

• Go to Documents folder.
• Right click on the Document folder and go to Properties.
• In Properties go to Location tab.
• In location Tab Click on Restore Default.

After performing above steps change the settings as you required and check if it helps.

How to Change the Group by View of a Folder in Windows 10 tutorial

The delay to reply was unrelated to this topic. I was preparing to add a disc drive. The preferred view is working now, and here is the step by step list of what I did, and it includes an additional step at the end. I also rebooted after each step.

1. Reset all views to default.
2. Rebooted.
3. Changed the "My Pc" view to Details and set the "Group By" to [None]. But left everything else at default.
4. Rebooted.
5. "My Pc" view retained the selected setting, alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.
6. Switched to Drive C:\, set it to "Details" and changed the column order to "Name, Size Type and Date". Grouping is available but not applied by the default settings.
7. Rebooted.
8. "My Pc" lost the settings, reverted to "Tile" and "Group by" was active again.
9. Reconfigured to "Details" and set the "Group By" to [None].
10. Rebooted.
11. "My Pc" view retained the selected settings. Alphabetically ordered "Details" without grouping.

 

Downloads folder shows group by date - no choice in group by menu for NONE

My downloads folder and other folders when using a save as shows files grouped by dates - I prefer just a plan list in which I can select a sort by clicking on the columns. The instructions for changing this state to right-click on the white space, then
select group by then select none, but there is no "none" choice in the group by menu. How do I fix this? Win 10 2004.
