Windows 10: TV HDMI working with PS4 but getting no signal from PC (win 10) or laptop (win 8)

Any idea what could be causing this? I thought my TV was broke but it connects just fine to the Playstation.

PC with Windows 10 not detecting TV to connect to - No Signal HDMI

Hi. I just bought a TV and I want to play PC games on TV. I have a HDMI cable but it says No signal. The tV does recognize the PC when I plug the cable in it, but it still says no signal.
I tried it on a laptop that has Windows 8 and it worked. On the PC it says No signal. The PC has Windows 10.
What's the problem?
- Windows 10, nvidia gtx 560 ti

PC to TV via HDMI Cord

I'm trying to stream video on my TV from my computer using an HDMI cord. Both have an HDMI port. The TV is the HDMI2 port. I've done everything suggested on the web to get his to work. I do have 2 display ports/cards because I use 3 monitors. I thought that might be an issue so I disabled one of them and had only one monitor/card running. Still the computer will not acknowledge the TV being connected. So, I tried a VGA cord from the computer to the TV. Still the computer does not recognize the TV. I've changed resolution, tried powering up in different order, trying all the options with SHIFT+P. Still no luck. I'm going to go and get a new HDMI cable today, maybe the one I have is bad. Any ideas? I've tried most of them that are on the web.

I am following your thread hoping you will come up with a solution because I have a similar but NOT exactly the same problem. Solution to your case might give me an insight on what I should do.
Forgive me if I appear hijacking your thread. Here is my problem, maybe you can help me out........

My TV (not a smart TV) has 2 hdmi ports.
I use one for my Roku, and the other one for my laptops and tablets.
HDMI connection to my laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium works (using hdmi to hdmi tv cable).
HDMI connection to my Surface tablet running Windows 8.1 RT works ( using the micro hdmi to hdmi tv cable )

HDMI connection to my laptop running Windows 10 Pro version 1703, build 15063.674 fails....... error message : no signal.

I have 2 hdmi to hdmi tv cables. They both fail on my Win 10 laptop.
I did try switching to the other hdmi port on my tv. Results same as above.

Adding : I have a Surface Pro1 running Win 10 Pro, but it does not have a micro hdmi port. So, I don't know if it will work with the hdmi connection.

Hi,

I've just updated my laptop from Windows 7 to Windows 10. When I plug my laptop into my LG 4K TV or an external monitor using an HDMI cable there's a "No signal" message on the monitor/TV. Prior to updating to Windows 10 I used to be able to plug it in via
HDMI to the TV and it would automatically display correctly.

Here's my laptop details:

Windows version: Windows 10 Home 64 bit, version 1909

Model of laptop: HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook PC

Processor: Intel Core i3 CPU, 2.53 Ghz

Memory: 8GB ram

Graphics drivers: Intel HD Graphics and AMD Mobility Radeon HD 5000 series

I've tried the following suggestions to no avail. I've tried:

-two different HDMI cables.

-changing the order in which the cables are plugged into the laptop/TV, as well as after a restart.

-connecting to an external monitor as well as the TV.

-updating both the display adapters (both are up to date).

-rolling back the display adapters.

-using the windows key + p command to toggle between 'duplicate' and 'extend' screen arrangements

-using the 'detect' button for multiple displays in the display settings (pressing this does nothing)

I've noticed when it is connected, under both the display settings and the intel graphics control panel, there is only a single display listed (that of the the laptop). There is no second display listed under the 'multiple displays' panel. Also, when I plus
the cable into the laptop from the TV, the TV will bring up an 'HDMI 3' selection box (when clicking on it, however, 'no signal' results).

Does anyone have any other ideas how to get the laptop to display on my TV via HDMI?
