Windows 10: Twin view stopped working

Hi. I have an HP laptop running Windows 10 and use a Dell S2409W monitor connected via HDMI cable to use the monitor as well as the laptop screen. On the monitor I am using an Intel UHD Graphics 620 and it says the Drivers are up to date. Approx 1 week ago when I turned the laptop on a screen said to reset my Microsoft password before I could access Windows which I did. Ever since I have not been able to get a duplicate view on the Dell monitor. Please advise as it is a real nuisance. It is not the monitor at fault as I have a works HP laptop and when I plug the HDMI cable in duplicate view works fine. Thanks Brian

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

I suggest you to follow the methods below if the DVD drive is not detected and check.

Method 1: Run Hardware and Devices Troubleshooter

Follow these steps to run Hardware and Devices troubleshooter:

• Press Windows key + X and click on Control Panel.
• Select Troubleshooting.
• Select View all on the top left corner.
• Click Hardware and Devices.
• Follow the on-screen instruction to run the troubleshooter.

Method 2: Uninstall and reinstall the driver

I suggest you to try uninstall the DVD drive drivers check if it works for you. Follow the steps to uninstall the DVD drive drivers:

• Press Windows Key + X key and click Device Manager.
• Right-click on the DVD drive listed and click on ‘Uninstall’.
• Select the option to Delete driver software.
• Restart the computer after its uninstalled.

Try to access the device manufacturer's website and download and install the latest chipset drivers.
