Windows 10: Twitter link not opening properly

When I click on a Twitter link in Telegram I get the "How do you want to open this?" question, no matter if I previously made a selection and checked the "Always use this app" box. I'd like to open such links in the Twitter app but I don't even get that choice. The Twitter app is already selected as the default app for Twitter but it seems that Windows or maybe it's Telegram, I'm not sure is treating the link not as a Twitter link but just a generic web link thus the only choices it's giving me are browsers. I've googled thoroughly but can't seem to find a fix. I've deleted and reloaded the Twitter app. It is quite an annoyance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

• Uninstall your Twitter application.
• Open your Twitter from a computer and go to your settings.
• Choose apps and remove access from Twitter for your Windows Phone.
• Reinstall Twitter on your phone and grant it permission to connect to your account.

Can't open Outlook links in Edge

Twitter RSS feed and Loop

So, my Twitter RSS feed won't update, and I can't post anything to twitter from the Loop or Kin Studio. Suggestions?
