two devices won't work on USB

    *cry

I've literally been trying to figure this out for 3-4 months now, and nothing, so any help is much appreciated!

I have a pretty old system, at least 4-5 years. It's still running pretty good because I take it out monthly and complete dust it/make sure it is running smoothly. It has a Quad Core that I overclocked to 3.6GHz, 8GB of RAM and an ASUS P5Q3 Deluxe motherboard.

So my problem: I recently upgraded to Windows 10, and from day one, two devices won't work on USB: my external hard drive and more importantly my iPhone 6. Every single time I plug them in I get an error "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"

I HAVE LITERALLY TRIED EVERYTHING I CAN FIND ON GOOGLE over the past 4 friggin months.

I decided that maybe the system needed to be formatted, so I reinstalled Windows 10 from CD, no upgrade, completely clean and fresh install. Made sure everything is updated, etc... YET THE PROBLEM CONTINUES! *Sad

For example on the iPhone, I tried manually browsing for the driver, doing everything I can to troubleshoot iTunes (which shouldn't be the problem since I reformatted), making sure I tried different USB ports, etc. I did test the iPhone on another Windows 10 machine and it works just fine.

So after literally trying everything, here is what I'm starting to wonder: could my mobo be so old that the chipset driver isn't supported by Windows 10? This wouldn't explain why my Logitech G19/G700 mouse and keyboard work just fine on this PC (unless I use my KVM the keyboard will get unrecognized but after a few times switching it picks it back up).

Are the USB ports just failing? Do I need to do something in BIOS? Is there a PCI slot I can fill with a USB card, can I hook USB into a SATA or something? I am literally willing to do anything to just get the damn iPhone working so I can sync my music and stuff.

Any advice would be appreciated, sorry for long post.

    :)

Is digital camera's USB cabel(to computer) same as HP's ???

Hi. I am more than sure that USB cables are (as any other standard data cables) compatible unless some devices with 'USB' port only for to charge them (like my BLUETREK earpiece) However connecting these devices to a computer will not destroy them, they
    just won't work.

In your case it might be a cable that is missing two signal cores and is design to carry only a power means it won't work. But it is very rare. plug it in (if it fits) and it will go. two devices won't work on USB :)

Sandisk USB Wireless Connect Update 1703

My Sandisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive doesn't connect on USB after Windows 10 Upgrade 1703. I've verified on two different computers that it's the upgrade that's the problem - not the flash drive. The volume won't migrate. Device Manager can see the
device (although it keeps appearing & disappearing) but not the volume and contents. It works fine on the previous version on Windows 10 - also verified on two computers. Any solutions?

two devices won't work on USB

By the way, little fun fact, after continuing to try stuff I just discovered this:

My iPhone 6 works PERFECTLY FINE if my Logitech G19 keyboard isn't plugged in... What the heck lol... I've been in IT for years and have never seen an iPhone not work because a keyboard is plugged in...

Does anyone have a clue what the heck is going on with this?
