Windows 10: Two different devices assigned at same Com port

Hello guys,i'm having an issue with the com port assignement. I have 2 devices USBtoCOM using two different driver 1x FTDI, 1x Windows driver. The devices with Windows driver is always connected. When i connect the FTDI device, sometimes Windows assign the correct com port, sometimes assign the same com port already used from Windows driver device. I know to solving the assigment need to change the com number in advanced settings.This is not a permanent solution to the problem, but a temporary solution until the next incorrect assignment.Can something be done to solve the problem once and fo

How to set AMP to use manually selected ports.

The drivers create ports automatically and assign them to devices to communicate with the system. Some applications assign random ports every time you connect the device with your computer where as some of them use the fixed ports for devices, however
we can try assigning ports manually to the device. Kindly follow the steps given below.

• Connect the device with your Windows PC.
  
• Right click on Start (Windows logo) and choose
  Device manager.
  
• Expand Ports (COM & LPT).
  
• Disconnect the device and see which communication port disappears.
  
• Now, reconnect the device and make sure that the port re-appears under
  Ports (COM & LPT).
  
• Right click on the port (Communication port (COM N) and select
  Properties.
  
• Go to Port Settings tab.
  
• Click on Advanced.
  
• Click on the dropdown list next to COM Port Number and select the port you would like to assign to the device and click
  Ok.
  
• Close the Properties window by clicking Ok.
  
• Close Device Manager and see if it works.
  

I would also suggest to check if there is any option to choose a different port within the driver setup while installing it.

In case none of these methods works, I would suggest to get in touch with the device manufacturer and see if they have any updates/utilities to override this default behavior.

can't change device assignment to different USB ports

USB ports having issues after Windows 10 update. Also, tried to connect camera and other devices to different

USB ports.

Tried everything - applications don't work or work partially or stuck.

Tried to connect devices back to original ports - seem to be working fine.

So, how can I move devices between USB ports? This didn't use to be a problem in earlier

Windows 10 releases.

I wanted to connect my photo camera to USB 3.0 port instead to USB 2.0, but I can't - this is ridiculous.

Once a device connected to one particular USB port - it can't be moved to another port? Difficult

to accept this...
