Windows 10: Two different Taskbars, one has no function

Hey Community,


I have a very strange issue on my Windows 10 1909 Build 18363.778 Desktop, which buggs me every second week.


When I boot up, my taskbar looks totally different from the one I configured:




If I press the Windows key, a different taskbar shows up:




The second one is apparently my real taskbar and the one I want and need. Also note, that this Task Bar thinks, I it is in full screen mode, because the notifications are muted.


If I click on the Windows button of the first Task Bar, no Start Menu will show up .


I was able to fix this issue last time with the PowerShell command "Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$$_.InstallLocation\AppXManifest.xml"}", but this is now the third time this error happens.


Do you have any further idea what could be the root cause and what will finally help?

"sfc /scannow" and "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" weren't able to spot any issues. At lest not at the third time this error happened.

Is it possible to pin different apps on a taskbar on different virtual desktops in Windows 10?

You can personalize the desktop of two computers by pinning the apps, documents and other programs to the taskbar.



Before we assist further, I would like to ask you a few questions:

• Are you referring to dual screen desktop feature of the computer?
• Do you want to personalize two different PC taskbars?

You can differ personalizing taskbar applications on different computers. You can either pin the same or differ the applications, programs or games on the computer taskbar according to the necessity.



To pin the apps to taskbar, follow the steps below:

• Click on Windows logo key on the keyboard to open
  Start menu.
• Right click on the app and select Pin to taskbar option from the context menu.
• Close the window and check if the app is pinned to taskbar.

Moving the taskbar

Hi Kim,

You can customize your taskbar to pin your favorite apps to it, move it to where you want to display on your screen, and specify how taskbar buttons group together when you have more than one window open. To address your question, we suggest
that you follow these steps on how to move your taskbar to a different location on the screen:

• Open Settings and choose Personalization.
• Select Taskbar.
• Under Taskbar location on the screen, click the drop-down menu and select
  Bottom.

System Icons on taskbar

Are you referring to the clock system icon on the taskbar?

If so, I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
  
• 
  Type system icons.
  
• 
  Under Turn System Icons ON or OFF, turn On the Clock and check with the issue.
