    Two drives - eliminating multi-boot

Both drives are M.2 drives although I'm guessing that doesn't matterDrive 1 - WIN10 installed and workingDrive 2 added WIN10 - installed and workkngWhen I boot, I'm presented with a menu to select which instance I want to run.I removed Drive 1 and the system won't boot. It doesn't see Drive 2 as bootable. Not even in the BIOS.What do I need to do to get Drive 2 to be the primary boot drive so I can remove Drive 1? And I'm hoping not to start over on Drive 2....Thanks in advance.

    :)

  2. Multi boot problem- who stole my boots?

I had a multi boot system installed on my hard drive, giving the options of DOS, Windows XP or Windows 10.

I moved this to a new computer with an SSD and cloned the hard drive to the SSD.

All was well until it stopped booting to DOS. No problem, I can access DOS through XP, but then it stopped offering XP. (on both the SSD and the hard drive) When XP is booted a ten(?) line message is flashed up on screen, but too brief to read.

I did run dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, and I wonder if this has screwed up the boot loader for DOS/XP.

Any suggestions as to how I can get my multi boot back?

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.

    Dual Boot Elimination

    Hi James,

We appreciate you for being part of Windows 10 and extremely sorry for the delay in response.

Please be informed that you can upgrade to the Windows 10 from the genuine Windows 7/8.1. If you have the genuine Windows 7 installed on your 1st partition, you may upgrade to the
Windows 10 pro using the media creation tool. As you have already upgraded to the Windows 10 pro from the Windows 10 Technical Preview on the 2nd partition, you may continue to use that if you wish.

If you want to continue to dual boot, please avoid the below step.

Kindly follow the below steps to eliminate dual boot options.

    • Press Windows + R keys on the keyboard, type
msconfig in the text box and hit enter.

    • Click on the boot tab on the msconfig menu.

    • First, select the Operating System which you want to set as default by click on
      Set as default button.

    • Then select the Operating System which you want to eliminate from the dual boot and click on
      Delete button.

    • Click on Apply and close the msconfig windows.

    • Reboot the computer and check.

If you delete the Windows 7 Pro partition, you might not be able to boot to the Windows 7 again on your computer after performing above steps. (Vice versa for the other partition)

Refer the below article for downloading Windows 10 through media creation tool.

    Thank you.
