Discus and support Two instances of a BT device and one cannot be deleted. in Windows 10 Drivers and Hardware to solve the problem; Just R&Rd the M.2 PCIe card with a AX200 on a HP 590 P066 MOBO.     Deleting $windows.~bt

    OK, I was able to delete the $windows.~bt folder after removing the drive and mounting the volume on a different computer running another Windows instance. So I'm good there.

    Unfortunately, this didn't fix the problem about not being able to apply the new Windows build. I'll have to keep working on that. So far I haven't received a suggestion for what could be causing that upgrade to fail and I'm leaning towards deleting the
    volume and starting over.

    Windows.~bt & Windows.old, can I delete them?

    Hi Mark,

    There are several ways on how to delete Windows.~bt & Windows.old folders on your computer. Simply follow the steps below:

    • Go Search and type Disc Cleanup.
    • Check the folder that you want to delete.
    • Press Ok.

    Note: Once you delete Windows.~bt file on your computer, you won't be able to go back with your previous Windows version.

    Disk cleanup doesn't list $Windows10.~BT folder. I tried just deleting but it would't allow. *Confused
