    Two "OneDrive Standalone Update Task" in task scheduler


    I have two versions of "OneDrive Standalone Update Task" in my task scheduler, but as you will note, one has not run since 1999, however, it says it's scheduled to run today. see pics at bottom


    I have a OneDrive account for home 365 and one for work, but I only access the work one through the web since it's very part-time. I just mentioned it in case it matters.


    They have different version? numbers, however, if I copy the file path/show in folder, they both go to the exact same file: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\OneDriveStandaloneUpdater.exe.


    Also, they are both configured for Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008 yet I've been on Windows 10 for a few years. Should I choose Windows 10?


    OneDrive always seems to be sucking up resources, but it works and my files update correctly. So I'm not looking for trouble.


    I have I scanned the file with Spybot and it is "clean."


    Should I worry with it?

    What does OneDrive Standalone Update Task do?

    OneDrive Standalone Update Task is found under scheduled task, I would like to know on what it does and why I need this scheduled task.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    I suggest you to clear the task from Task Scheduler using the below steps and check if the issue still persists.

    Steps:-

    • Type Task Scheduler on Search bar.
    • Click on Task Scheduler Library.
    • Select the particular task and right click on it.
    • Select End.

    Cannot schedule a task with Task Scheduler - error 2147942403

    Hi,

    I suggest you to check the below settings and check fi it helps.

    • In task scheduler, click on the scheduled job properties > then settings.
    • In the last listed option: "If the task is already running, the following rule applies:"
    • Select "Stop the existing instance" from the drop down list.
    • Save and Exit. Then check whether the task is running or not.
