Windows 10: Two PCs H170-HD3 & Z97X-UD5H rebuilt with M.2 SSDs - No CD/DVD RW seen in Device Manager...

I have Rebuilt Two 2 PCs H170-HD3 & Z97X-UD5h with m.2 SSDs & OS id WIN 10 Pro Current. All is good except for CD/DVD RWs In Working Order do NOT appear in Device Manager and, of course, do not work.This appears co-incidental that this has happened on both of them.Much of the stuff on Google does NOT work.Can anyone please assist with this.Regards

Connecting Two PCs to Clone a M.2 where both PCs only have One M.2 Slot, each.

This is my Scenario - I have Two Machines - Office PC has PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD 1TB, with WIN 10 Pro 64 bit, Programs & Data (Only One M.2 Slot) to be Cloned to the Second PC, which has a New Empty PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD 2TB, also has only one M.2 Slot (GA-Z97X - UD5H MB). HOW would you Connect the Two Machines, to perform a Clone - First PC to Second PC. Your Advice & Information would be most appreciated, on this lovely Xmas day. Cheers, Owen Carlton

 

windows will not format my dvd-rw's

We understand that, you face issues with Windows 10 DVD player and I'd be certainly help you.

Please answer these queries, for a better understanding of your issue:

• 
  Have you installed any third party DVD burner software? If so, I would suggest you to uninstall it and check, if it works.
  
• 
  Did you try to use a different DVD RW disk? If so, do you face any similar issue?
  

I would recommend you to uninstall the DVD drive from device manager and restart the pc to install it back and check, if the issue persist.

Refer to these following steps to uninstall the DVD/CD-ROM driver from the Device Manager.

a. Click on Windows key + X key and then, select Device Manager.

b. Locate and expand “DVD/CD-ROM driver” in the Device Manager Window.

c. Right-click on the “DVD/CD-ROM driver” and click on “uninstall” the DVD/CD-ROM driver.

d. Restart the computer and check, if it works.

CD/DVD RW Drive not recognised

Hi all.

I have an Acer laptop with built in DVD/CD RW drive, running Win 10

For some reason, the laptop has stopped recognising it.

When I put a disc in it whirs, spins and clicks as usual as if it were reading it normally, then stops.

Have gone through all the usual checks and I note that its not even listed under devices, in fact, there is no option for CD/DVD drives even listed to expand under

I have even gone as far as to return the laptop to factory settings and still no luck.

Can anyone suggest a fix (in laymans terms LOL)
