Two Recovery Partitions after installing 10586.3?

After finishing the installation of the Threshold 2 update 10586.3, I seem to have grown an additional Recovery Partition.

How many of these do I need?

Will the excess one be deleted along with Windows.old after thirty days (or if I run Cleanmgr earlier)?

    Thanks
    Dave

  2. Two recovery partitions on a windows 10 install?

    Hello Vijaya Kumari,

I do not agree with your view.

After upgrading to Windows 10 I had also two recovery partitions.
After much consideration, I have the old one
    from Windows 8.1 deleted
    without any noticeable limitations.
Therefore, I am convinced that the old partition
    is unnecessary. The only
problem I had then, was the
    inclusion of the unpartitioned range
    in partition C, because the
EFI system partition is located between
that two areas. I have resolved this problem with the help of a third party software.

I hope this information is helpful to other users.

    Thank you.

Two recovery partitions on a windows 10 install?

    Hi,

I have searched high and low and can not find an answer to my question. I have installed win10pro x64 coming from 8.1 and i now have two recovery partitions showing under disk management. I know windows keeps the recovery tools on one of those partitions
in case the main partition is corrupted and can not boot but why two? The first one is 300mb and the second is 450mb.

My question is which one belongs to win 10 and which one if any can i safely delete and merge back into the C drive?

Some info: UEFI install, windows old removed, 3 ssd in raid 0.

Does the Recovery Partition show in Disk Management? I wouldn't think it will automatically be deleted, usually takes action by the User to delete a partition.

I would create a full system backup or clone my disk to a spare one. Then I would delete both recovery partitions. If anything goes wrong, I would restore from the backup.

Two Recovery Partitions after installing 10586.3?

Indeed and I only need to keep the later one.

What's that command to check which of them is actually in use? Ah! Yes, that's it:
    reagentc /info
I then deleted the recovery partition that wasn't being used and moved the active recovery partition to the end.
