  1. Two WiFi Router- One SSID - Two Password - 2Different Floor in same building- Interferance

Recently, I was visiting a place and rented a hotel room and got into a wired situation:Situation: In the hotel, each floor has separate WiFi routers installed, all the routers have the same SSID eg- XYZ_Hotel_WiFi, but each router has a different password. Issue: The bandwidth of adjacent floor routers caused interference and the connection used to break. It was happening due to authentication failure as another the SSID with same name and different password was trying to establish a connection every time. Is there any way that I can same multiple passwords for the one SSID?

    :)

Problem Connecting Multiple Wifi Routers With Same SSID

The SSID is not the name of your router - it's the name of your network. You call your network anything you like, but the purpose of the SSID is only to identify your network. The SSID is not part of your network's security.

To prevent someone from connecting to your network, do these three things:

1- Give your network a password. Make it a long, complex password that no one can guess.
Nobody can connect to your network unless they know the password.

2-Give your router a different long, complex password. Nobody can change your router's settings if they don't know that password. That's important, because you use your router's settings to setup your network password.

If you have a wireless router, this third step is important:

3- Encrypt the wireless signals with the strongest available encryption method. Currently, that is WPA2-PSK/AES.

Apply these three steps and nobody else will be able to use your network or listen in on your network communication.

Problem Connecting Multiple Wifi Routers With Same SSID

    Hi,

I lives in Pakistan, Here main BroadBand service provider is PTCL. When they install new BroadBand internet connection, they name each router's SSID as "PTCL-BB". Surely, I can change the SSID but as we go to some other place same problem exists. I need
to use some networking manager because Windows 10 trying to connect with my neighbor's router with my router's password. I also need to configure my network manager on each startup.

I need to know is there any way to show "MAC" in network connection wizard instead of "SSID".

Again Please don't suggest me to change SSID of every router, Apologies!

    Thanks..

  4. Two WiFi Router- One SSID - Two Password - 2Different Floor in same building- Interferance

WiFi network that is not broadcasting an SSID

I have my home router set to not broadcast the SSID and have it secured with a WPA2 Passphrase. The question I have is how can I connect my LG Quantum phone to my home network if I'm not broadcasting the SSID? It doesn't show up on the list of available
WiFi connections and there is no way to manually include my SSID and password from what I can see. Any help would greatly be appreciated.
