Windows 10: Two Windows folders at C drive, different sizes, same amount of items

Hi there,After checking notifications, I saw system defender showing me some trojan at C:\Windows \System32\printui.dll and that is quarantined then took action to remove it. Now it came to my attention that I have 2 windows folders, same names, different sizes one has 20ish GBs other one 62kb, below it stands that both of them have same amount of items but when I look in properties and general it says otherwise. I scanned with win defender offline, scanned that small folder twice and nothing. Should I delete that small one, am I safe?

C windows installer folder - Delete?

He can do symbolic link redirection and move the files in it to a different location. *Wink
Better try it out in a virtual of first. Just a suggestion.

Like:
First move everything in c:\windows\installer to d:\installercache
Then delete c:\windows\installer folder
Then type this in command mode as admin
mklink /d c:\windows\installer d:\installercache

Removing those installer files is a bad idea. it might prevent you from updating or uninstalling apps.

okay ive done the same thing as you but i cant put the file back into the folder

• Copy nvlddmkm.sys in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\nv_dispi.inf_amd64_5518e59e8d3b48f4\ to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ and replace the existing one.

1. Disable bitlocker
   and then check the folder size.
2. We would also suggest you to open the folder and select all files and see the size of the contents.

Let us know if the size of the contents matches the folder size. If you see a difference, then the folder might be showing incorrect size.
