    First, the answers to your questions:

    1. I have a Lenovo Win7 (Of course, it now has Windows 10 on it)

    2. The issue started as soon as I downloaded Windows 10 - it has been a little over a week, if I remember correctly.

    3. I have not made any changes to settings prior to the installation of Windows 10.

    4. I typed in MS Word, and had the same issue.

    5. There are no error messages.

    Please share the details.


    • Since when did the issue started appearing?

    • Have you checked with Notepad? Are you able to type normally?

    • Is the issue specific to Cortana?

    • Do you see any error code or error message?
    As a work around, I suggest you to perform an SFC Scan and check if it resolves the issue.

    Method 1: Run SFC Scan

    Click on the below link and follow the procedure to perform a SFC Scan.

    System file check (SFC) Scan and Repair System Files & DISM to fix things SFC cannot

    Check if it helps.



    And also, download and install the latest keyboard drivers from your computer manufacturer website and check if it resolves the issue.
