Windows 10: Typing is constantly interrupted on web browers and software programs.

As I type my cursor where I am typing will disappear after a few keystrokes and I have to click back to my spot with my mouse to continue typing. The slower I type the faster it occurs. Also if I select a drop down menu with my mouse, I only have a few moments before the drop-down resets. Then I have to click on it again and try to find what I am going to select quickly. Any help?

To diagnose the issue, I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

• Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
  
  sfc /scannow

If the issue still exists, try the next method.

Method 2:

You may check the same issue with the new user account.

Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
• Select Add an Account.
• Enter a user name and hit Next.
• Click on Finish.
• Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
• Check if issue persists.

Listed below are some reasons why resetting was not successful:

• Applications blocking the process to continue.
• Corrupted files/programs interrupting the process

To help you out with it, we suggest following the steps below that can help in resetting the computer without other programs interrupting it:

• Right click on the Start menu.
• Choose Command Prompt (Admin).
• Type cd %windir%\system32\config, then click Enter.
• Type ren system system.001,then click Enter.
• Type ren software software.001,then click Enter.
• Close the Command Prompt and restart the computer.
• Go to Settings and try to reset the computer again.
