Windows 10: Typo on Windows 10 COA

I opened up a OEM copy of Windows 10 today, did the lottery scratch off to expose the product key, and the key only has 24 characters.


The first set is only four characters long -> XXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX


Since is now nearly impossible to actually call someone @ Microsoft to fix this, anyone have any ideas where to start the email chain?

Typo on Windows 10 COA

Hi Peter,

if this really is a typo, you need to call Microsoft support.

But probably the first symbol was scratched. Is there a place for a letter at the beginning of code? If yes, there were a letter. You may try to shade this place with a very soft pencil. Sometimes this may help to view a letter's contours.

 

Windows 10 Tweaks

Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

• Open a new Explorer window.
• Click View in the ribbon.
• Click Options.
• Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
• Click OK
