  1. UAC and protecting me from programs I downloaded.

When I try to open a program, a message comes up stating,"this App has been blocked for your protection."

The problem is I have been using this program at least ten years now with no problem wht so ever.

As I see it, Microsoft is making decisions for me to decide not to allow certain programs be used. Not sure if this was one of those times when you had a pop-up warning that this program might be harmful where you were allowed to make the choice to continue or not.

So how do I need to do to use the program I want to use?

The name of the program is AnVir Task Manager Free.

I always wonder what is the criteria for Microsoft to restrict its users from doing something or using a program.

What must I do to use the program I want to use?

This is on a laptop and I am the only person who has ever used this computer.

    Thanks

    Dave

  2. Grant a specific application permanent UAC permission

    Hello jaksps,

In line with your concern, User Account Control doesn't have a "allowed-or-blocked" list and disabling the User Account Control involves security risks. Though, there is a workaround to run a program without UAC prompt using Task Scheduler. I'd recommend
performing the steps suggested by SpiritX MS MVP in this
    thread
    .

    Looking forward to your response.

    Regards.

    Windows 10 UAC problems

    Hi,

Thank you for posting on Microsoft Communities.

I suggest you to disable the UAC-(Select the bar as shown in the below screen shot) and check with the issue. To open User account control settings, follow the steps:

    • Click on the search bar on the taskbar.
    • Type User account control settings.
