Windows 10: UAC prompt has a background image instead of just being gray.

Hello,


I'm having an unusual problem where the background of the User Account Control prompt has an image instead of just being a solid color. I can't for the life of me figure out how it even happened in the first place. To make matters worse, it's a private image that's showing up, so would be embarrassing if someone else saw. I tried deleting the picture but it still shows up somehow. Unplugging the external hard drive (where the image lives) seemed to fix the problem, but it's a pain to have to unplug it all the time. Going into UAC settings and choosing the "notify me only when apps try to make changes to my computer (do not dim my desktop)" also works, but creates a security risk. I searched google every which way and couldn't find an answer. Anyways.


Any help would be appreciated.

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.
