    Ubuntu missing 1920 X 1080 resolution in vmware - How to fix


    Hi folks
    Running Ubuntu (or various derivatives of it such as kbuntu etc) in a VM standard HD resolution 1920 X 1080 is missing.

    To fix :

    sudo apt-get install open-vm-tools-desktop

    1920 X 1080 is not on recommended resolution list

    my monitor has 1920 X 1080 resolution, but 1920 X 1080 is not on recommended resolution list. how can I get 1920 X 1080 resolution listed?

    Screen Resolution

    I have a Sumsung Model T23B350 monitor with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080.

    However Windows 10 only lets me reach a resolution of 1280 x 1024.

    How do I resolve this as Windows 8.1 allowed 1920 x 1080 ?
