Windows 10: UE4 Prerequisites Install Error - 0x80070001 Incorrect Function

Hi there,I'm trying to install a game on Steam and it repeatedly asks me to install Direct X even though I already have it installed and then opens an install window to install "UE4 Prerequisites". When I click install, it fails and gives me this error "0x80070001 Incorrect Function". I have contacted Steam, Epic Games and been on multiple forums to try and solve this issue with absolutely no luck. SSDT Setup Failed incorrect Function (0X80070001)

HI Team,

while installing SSDT 2017 , I am facing an issue "Setup Failed incorrect Function (0X80070001)" in Windows 10 . Please can any one suggest how to fix this issue and let me know if any further information required.

Ubuntu - WslRegisterDistribution failed with error: 0x80070001

On Windows Server 2019 Standard (64bit OS) - Build 17763.615, when trying to install Ubuntu on WSL (by following Install Linux Subsystem on Windows Server),
I have this error:

Incorrect Function 0x80070001 in Windows 10 - Any solution?

First time poster but have been working on PC's and using Win OS's since Win95, so I am not a novice and have used this forum on occasion to research and find solutions for myself and others.

Background: Recently cloned a SSD 512Gb primary disk partition containing Win 10 to 1TB SSD in order to free up disk space. All OS functions are seamless after the upgrade. I can also do file and folders backups using Win 7 Backup and Restore. However,
following the upgrade I can no longer create a System Image, and am getting "incorrect function 0x80070001" after waiting hours for the system to create a disk image. Active partition is System Reserved. All backups and images stored on 4.5Tb Seagate Backup
Plus. I have also gotten the 0x800780166 error. It seems to be a system timeout issue when writing to the target disk.

I have tried many of the suggested forum solutions noted on this including Checkdisk, SFC, VSS set to automatic, etc. in an attempt to resolve the dreaded Incorrect Function 0x80070001. No issues with SFC, VSS, CHKDSK scan and repair. I have also deleted
previous images using the correct process. Creating an image starts great with about 25% done in less than an hour, but then the remaining attempt to build the image can last hours. Based upon my research, I recognize that this error may be caused my multiple
comms issues, but nothing I have tried seems to work.

Need more info let me know.
