Windows 10: UEFI/BIOS version of a recovery image.

I need to install windows 10 on my PC, SB 2 15 inch. I plan to use a recovery image to recover the PC. However I am concerned doing so may update the UEFI/BIOS to the recent UEFI version released in April 2022. i.e. 392.72.768.0.This UEFI version blocks the downgrade of UEFI using fwupdmgr. I am on the UEFI version I want and I do not want to update the BIOS.Is there a way to check what version of UEFI the recovery image may have? Or delete the UEFI update portion in the recovery image? I plan to use Windows 10, 1909 for Surface Book 2 15 inch recovery image. Thank you.

[HELP]Image recovery issues

Guys i am trying to fix my cousins Asus Eee netbook. It has a backup image file that is partitioned on the hard drive but when I go to use it the app will run through a few steps and stop. It is running Vista . Any suggestions?

 

UEFI and BIOS problem

After going though the steps of to access my Uefi/ Bios menu (go to advanced options, click recovery, restart, advanced options yadadada) my bios menu changed. I cannot for the life of me figure out how i can access my onboard chipset. I just want to
enable my onboard graphics card. Any help would be appreciated.

 

Windows 10 System Image recovery

Hi,

A couple of things to check...

Is the new drive Initialized properly... If your system is using UEFI Bios it needs to be Initialized as GPT... If it is Legacy Bios it needs to be Initialized as MBR...

This is not the same as formatting... It is a step that must be done first with a completely blank HDD with no partitions...

There is a possibility that the Recovery process is trying to use the HDD with the image on it as the drive to reload the image to...

You may have better luck if you connect the drive with the System Image by a USB adapter...

Also... did you make the System Repair DVD on the same machine as you are working on ? Recovery Disks sometimes will not function if a different version\build of Windows...
