Windows 10: uefi mode causes automatic repair

i want to enable uefi secure boot, cause windows 11 will require that and since it's supposed to be more secure anywayhowever, when i do so, my pc starts automatic repair.the troubleshoot menu or whatever it's called does load, but nothing more.for those that have an answer, please keep in mind, that i don't want to loose my data, since i can boot with legacy just fine and i only want to create a full backup if absolutely necessary.

As an initial step to get back into the normal Windows screen, we suggest that you perform a

• Select Troubleshoot.
• Select Advanced options.
• Select Startup Repair.
