  1. UEIF

Assume I have a blank screen and I have a DVD recovery disc. But my laptop (HP Pavilion) is set to boot FIRST from the hard disc. How do I set the laptop to boot from CD/USB/Hard disc in that order? I have tried the RECOVERY route from Settings but cannot see where the boot order lies in UEIF to change it. Thanks guys.

    :)

  2. Windows bsod boot loop

Ok well im sort of making progress I can get it to boot up system repair in legacy+ueif where I couldn't before but it still crashes. I am able to get system repair working but I am back at square one. I tried the things u suggested in command prompt and they all came back with completed successfully. I have not tried to repair the EFI Bootloader in Windows 10 suggestion but thats my next step.

    KB4090007 Intel Microcode Updates for Windows 10 v1709 - September 13

    Hi,

The listed Skylake cpu's should now be protected for both Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. Even without UEIF/BIOS update.

    Cheers, *Wink

    UEIF

Your Organization used Windows Defender Application Control to Block this app on windows 10

    • Boot into the UEFI/BIOS and disable Secure Boot.

    • If you can’t find the toggle contact the computer manufacturer. For most case, this is a simple toggle in the UEFI/BIOS.

Important: In some cases, you may not be able to find the toggle. Meaning, the option may not be part of the UEFI. In such case, a firmware update for the UEIF/BIOS may be required. As a last resort, a reinstall of Windows 10 would be required.

    • Boot back into Windows 10

    • Again, boot back into the UEFI/BIOS and re-enable Secure boot.

    • Boot back into Windows 10 again, and the issue should be resolved.

    • If you are using BitLocker, repeat step #3 and use the option to Resume (Bitlocker) Protection.
