    I'm fed up with the poor service and expense of Virgin Media for UK broadband (70Mbps) and all day phone calls for £50 plus.

    I've just bought a 4G phone and find I can tether it to my Windows 10 laptop or PC and get 35Mbps internet download speed which is fast enough for my needs. Three mobile offer a monthly SIM deal for unlimited data and phone calls for £25 which would meet my needs (half the price of VM). There may be cheaper plans.

    Has anyone used a mobile only plan for their phone calls and PC internet access and can recommend this as a cost effective option?

    I find it bizarre a person would not want home broadband when you can get unlimited use as cheap as £10 per month (plus rental) unles user does not even have a phone.

    No data package comes remotely close in cost or performance.

    Good old data only sims are pretty uncommon these days and still tend to be overpriced

    Probably cheaper to simply use tethering on a mobile phone as a hotspot.

    Allowances vary a lot but payg will always work out expensive.

    Tethering allowances are fairly generous now from majors, but not always on all plans e.g. the cheap Three Essential Plans do not allow tethering.

    Mobile Broadband for Gaming

    i recently purchased an Alienware M11x laptop , and was wondering if i cna get any suggestions for a good mobile broadband to use for gaming , verizon and sprint suck as they limit their use upto 5gb , i am more interested in unlimited plans , here is one i was looking at if someone can shed some light on this or any others , mucho appreciated.

    4G Sim Free Mobile(UK)

    Time for a new sim free mobile.
    Tesco my provider on a sim only contract want £140+ for a good mobile.
    Seen this on amazon and its sim free!
