    What browser are you using?

    You might want to get a good advertisement blocker...

    And suggestion to read the following article which describes in detail various methods how to get out of such pop ups. The article also mentions methods how to prevent these kind of fake alerts.

    This is only a very temporary fix.. it comes right back. This is what I have done since the problem started. The 2nd part is much like the problem.... trying to sell a solution ,

    Twice today I've had a new scam call (well, an old one using a new number anyway). It purports to be a recorded message "...from Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs..." urging me or my solicitor to call their number straight away before "...action may be taken".

    As the number given (both as the displayed caller and in the recording) starts with 0203129..., and belongs to an outfit called 'Localphone Limited' I very much doubt it's genuine... *Smile
