Windows 10: Ultimate Word Games app freezing and crashing

Split from this thread. I'm having an issue with the Microsoft Ultimate Word Games app. Usually any time after 1am when i try to play one of the games, the app will freeze as soon as the first ad starts. sometimes after a few tries the ad will run normally and the game will be fine, sometimes it just keeps freezing and crashing. everything is up to date and i've uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the issue doesn't resolve.
