    Specs (for added context):

    Motherboard: Strix Z390-E
    Case: Aerocool NightHawk Duo Mid-Tower

    Not used to the split audio out and mic in thing for Desktop: been 100% comfortable with the single AUX port that can do both simultaneously. Now that I upgraded to a fully fledged PC Desktop, this has been my biggest issue; where do I plug my earphones so that I use this?

    Earphones with built-in mic are working but microphone isn't


    I have sennheiser mm30i earphones, and they have a built in microphone.
    Whenever I plug them in, everything is fine and the sound is good, but when I try to speak in games, Skype, etc, then the microphone isn't working.
    I have Realtek HD Audio Drivers installed. I tried playing around with the configuration, but with no success.

    Enable Built-in Microphone even if earphones (without mic) is plugged in combo jack

    I use a Lenovo Ideapad 300 and it has a built-in microphone and a combo jack. The problem is that the earphones I am using right now has no microphone.

    My question is how do I enable the built in microphone even if I connect my earphones (Without mic) in the combo jack?
