Windows 10: Un-stable network after update to Windows 10 - 1803 build 17134.228

I have a small net of 5 computers and a NAS-drive in my house - all worked for years - too after upgrading to Windows 10 <1803.


It's set up like a compagny network without a domain and a workgroup name (not a homegroup !) - every machine has it's own individual name and my router acts as a DHCP-server and distributes IP-addresses - the machines nearly almost get the same IP each time they're started.


During the last month they all one by one was updated to 1803 with no problems - ONE went wrong and I gave up on that OLD machine and have replaced it with a HP Compaq Elite 8100 SFF - yeah, an elderly machine too, but It's only used once a week for backup and I have one other in the net already.


I control the backuo machine - let's call it B - from my daily go-to machine (let's call it A), meaning that I

1) turn B on by WakeOnLAN,

2) opens a Remote Desktop to B,

3) Starts the backup process and

4) leave it alone by closing the remote desktop again


- it been working nicely for years with no problems at all - too in Windows 10 1709 and some machines updated to 1803.


Now the last one, B, is updated from 1709 to 1803 - 17134.228 and it makes the net connection TO that machine very unstable - I have tried a diffent CABLE, I have tried a different SWITCH - same un-stable behavior.


UN-stabel meaning - sometines I CAN, some time I CAN'T - WakeOnLAN and connect Remote Desktop from A to B.


If I goto B and try to connect Remote Desktop to ALL OTHER machines ... no fail at all !


This UN-stability is driving med CRAZY !!!!


I have tried most of all these checklist out there with no luck !


Some of you MUST have the same problems !

What is MOST LIKELY the problem here - besides, I think 1803 HAS a problem with pairing computer names and IP-addresses ?

Should stay Version 1803 build 17133.1 or Go Version 1803 build 17134¿

Hi,

Upgrading to 17134 is recommended because it is a more stable build and fixes issues found by Microsoft with 17133.

 

Windows Update doesn't show Build 1803

I have a Dell XPS-13 laptop running Windows 10 build 17134. I have tried running Windows update multiple times, but it never shows build 1803. How do I get Windows Update to install build 1803?

The next Windows 10 service pack major update has been named "Spring Creators Update." Windows Insider Program users toying with Build 17618 of the operating system spotted a listing of all the major updates of Windows 10 known to the build, when running "Get-VMHostSupportedVersion" in Power Shell. The last entry reads "Microsoft Windows 10 Spring Creators Update 1803." The version number (1803 in this case), often coincides with the public release date of the update. The Fall Creators Update 1709, released in 2017-09 (September) to Insiders. Going by that convenion, Spring Creators Update could see a "branded" Insider preview build this month, 2018-03 (March), with a public release usually 3-4 weeks after, presumably before Summer kicks in.
