Windows 10: Unable to access Android phone from Windows 10 File Transfer

When I connect my Xiaomi Poco F1 phone to my computer running Windows 10 Pro N and select "File Transfer" in my phone, I am expecting my phone storage to be accessible from computer, but it is not opening anything.


>> In Device manager, my phone is listed as "POCO F1" under "Other Devices" with aYellow bang.

>> My phone gets listed under "Bluetooth and other devices" as "POCO F1" with a bottom text -Driver is unavailable


Went through various blogs / websites and tried various things:


* Tried using different cables

* Tried with different USB ports

* Problem is since several months - have rebooted numerous times

* Some blog says to install wpdmtp.inf - but this file is not available under C:\Windows\INF. I found ts_wpdmtp.inf and installed it, didn't help resolve my problem

* Downloaded and installed Media feature pack Microsoft-Windows-MediaFeaturePack-OOB-Package_x64.msu - no luck

* Tried installing driver manually : Update driver > Browse my computer for driver software > Let me pick from the list available --- I don't see anything called MTP or MTP USB device not under 'Mobile Devices' as well

* Searched in internet for Poco F1 Drivers and downloaded, tried installing it - didn't work.

* Tried with different Android phone available Mi Note 4 - same result ----- so, this is not a problem with a particular phone or model. My computer has problem accessing ANY ANDROID PHONE.


Need help to fix this problem.

No file transfer window when transferring files on android phones.


Device: One plus 2, Nexus 5, 7, and others not showing file transfer window when transferring files

OS: Windows 10

Brand: RazerModel: Razer

Blade 2016 (GTX 1060 edition)

Does this occur with other devices on this machine? : Yes

Does this happen on other laptops? : No

Does this occur when using different cables? : Yes

Does this occur on both modes MTP and PTP? : Yes

What happened when the device is unplugged While attempting to transfer a file?:

An error occurs as if the file were transferring in the background unseen but, it isn't.
It's been checked under task manager.
Steps Taken:Deleted any and all drivers dealing with Android through Device Manager -> show hidden devices -> uninstalled drivers.

Used different usb type "c" cables.

Uninstalled and reinstalled one plus drivers,

Uninstalled drivers for mtp and reinstalled

Updated all drivers per laptop website

Ran sfc/scannow tools, no issues found

Ran disk clean up, cleared all and any temp file (ex: cache, cookies, java cache)

This issue has been found to be windows itself and not the device(s).

Please feel free to throw me suggestions after reading through what was done! *Biggrin

 

access denied on android phone

hi looking for help please I have win 10 64 bit on dell OptiPlex, cannot transfer files from android phone to pc it comes up with access denied message it works fine for the other way round i.e. from pc to phone .
it seems the problem is the pc as it works fine on my laptop with same version of windows if I plug usb stick in as well it will transfer from phone to usb stick and then from stick to pc
can any body help please
